The Identity Journey

June 2025

God's Fingerprint

During a visit to a museum to see a special exhibit, my wife and I had the opportunity to have a guide. As we walked through the exhibit, the guide described each piece of art, what influenced the artist, and what was unique in each piece.

As we left the exhibit, we knew a lot more about the artist than when we started. We learned about who the artist was through his art. Where he came from and how that influenced his selection of subjects and materials. Who were the artists that influenced his style and how it was demonstrated in each creation. What the artist trying to communicate through his art.

The identity of the artist was represented in his art, so we could know him better through what he created and how he created it.

For what can be know about God is plain to them, because God has show it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Romans 1:19-20

Just like the artist, we can learn about the nature, the identity, of God through what He has created. We have no excuse for not believing in God, because we are literally surrounded by the evidence of His creation.

Even more than just knowing there is a God, we can discover aspects of God's identity through what He has made.

Sometimes, like going through the museum, we need a guide to help us discover what is right before us.

This month, the HE so I Project will be guiding us through a discussion to discover who God is, as the creator.

As we learn more about God, through viewing Him as the creator and meditating on His creation, we will learn more about what that means for our own identity, as we choose to follow Him.

HE So I Project Podcast:

God's Fingerprint in Creation

Part 1 of Episode 3 of the HE so I Project podcast, God's Fingerprint in Creation, will be released on Tuesday, June 10 at 8:00 am (Central).

In this first part of the episode, the hosts will be discussing God as the creator, how God introduces himself as the creator in the Bible, and how we can know Him through His creation.

From the very first verse in the Bible, God presents Himself as the creator. As we learned from His name (God's Name Episode), He wants us to know His and one way is through what He has made.

Part 1 of the episode is focused on the "HE is so..." part of the discussion. On June 24, Part 2 of the episode will be released which will focus on the "...so I can be." part of the discussion. You don't want to miss either part. We will send a reminder when part 2 of the God's Fingerprint episode is released.

IMPORTANT:

If you have not already done this, wherever you view or listen to the podcast, please take a moment to subscribe. This will ensure that you are notified as soon as new episodes are released.

HE so I Project Bible Study

To help support your search into knowing God, the HE so I Project includes Bible studies developed for each specific episode. Each lesson builds off of the discussion in the podcast and provides guidance to discover for yourself how God has presented Himself in the Bible.

As expected, the first part of the study focuses on discovering the identity of God, through the principles, perspectives, purposes and priorities that are associated with Him. The second part of the study leads us to contemplate how God wants to transform our identity to better reflect His.

The Bible study for this lesson can be downloaded for free from the redeeming identity website, at the HE so I Project study section. Let us know how this study is being used by God in your discovery of who He is and who He has designed you to be.

If you download and use the Bible Study, either on your own or with others, please let us know what you are learning, by providing comments about the study.

God's Glory Gallery

One of the reasons that I enjoy photography is the opportunity to capture images that display the glory of God.

We all remember scenes from our life and travels that stopped us in our tracks and reminded us that there is a God which lets us know He is through what He has created.

  • A colorful sunset
  • A majestic mountain scene
  • A peaceful lake

In God's Glory Gallery, we are collecting images landscapes that can be used to remind to see God's identity in everything around us. With each image, we will include a scripture passage that will communicate God's attributes.
